Julie Dodge, LMHC, ATR
I have never found any modality as healing as art. Art never lies and always reveals; though it may take time. By creating instinctually, we are connecting with ourselves in a way that transcends our defense mechanisms. We let go of control and accept what is.
I am also an Art Therapist who is dedicated to helping children and their parents navigate interpersonal struggles. In my therapeutic approach, I give children a space to express themselves while supporting their caregivers to be the parents they needed when they were growing up. To do this, I use a mix of one-on-one counseling with children, and separate meetings with their caregivers.
I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Antioch University in 2021. I have worked at a community mental health clinic specializing in child counseling from 2021 to 2024, although I love using art therapy with people from all walks of life and have worked with clients at all life stages.
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor [LH61539526] in the state of Washington and am also a Registered Art Therapist [ATR-P: #21-497].
